Shrink a PDF
- Works well for scanned or photo-heavy PDFs.
- Each page is rebuilt as an image, so you can no longer select or search the text.
- Text-based PDFs can actually get larger. If that happens, you will be told.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I combine multiple images into a single PDF?
Yes. Select up to 50 images, set the page order with the Up / Down buttons, and they become PDF pages. Each page keeps the original image's aspect ratio.
Can I merge multiple PDF files into one?
Yes. Under "Merge PDFs", choose up to 10 PDFs (100MB in total), set the order with the Up / Down buttons, and merge. Pages are copied as they are rather than turned into images, so text selection, search and formatting are kept. Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged. See this guide for details and limits.
What format do I get when I extract images from a PDF?
Each page is converted to a PNG image, downloadable individually. Up to 300 pages are supported.
Is my uploaded file sent to a server?
No. Both creating a PDF and extracting pages happen entirely in your browser — no file is ever sent to a server.
Can I also shrink a PDF's file size?
Yes. Upload a PDF under "Shrink a PDF" and each page is rebuilt as a JPG image to cut the size (up to 50 pages, three compression levels). It works well for scanned or photo-heavy PDFs, but pages become images, so the text can no longer be selected or searched. Text-based PDFs can even get larger, and the tool tells you when that happens. See this guide for when this approach actually helps.
Can I turn scanned document photos into a PDF?
Yes. Select multiple scanned or photographed document images in order and combine them into a single PDF.
Can I convert a PDF to PowerPoint, Word, or Excel?
Yes. In the PDF to Document section, upload a PDF and choose PowerPoint (.pptx), Word (.docx), or Excel (.xlsx). PowerPoint captures each page as an image, Word extracts text as paragraphs, and Excel puts text one line per row.
Do scanned documents (photographed PDFs) also convert to Word or Excel?
A scan with no text layer can't be converted to Word or Excel — conversion stops with an explanatory message. Use the PowerPoint conversion instead, which saves each page as an image.
Can I use it without installing anything or signing up?
Yes. No installation or account is required — just convert directly in your browser.
